Tuition
I teach all styles and techniques from beginner to advanced. Genre Rock, Funk, Jazz, Latin.
I give tuition in my own studio and treat each student individually according to level of playing, what style of music you wish to play and if there are any particular areas of playing you would like to improve upon. I can also teach you how to read drum music, write out exercises for you to practice. Some of the topics are: Posture - Stick control / technique - Bass drum technique (double bass drum) - Co-ordination and independence - Rudiments - Fills - Time keeping - Phrasing - Dynamics - Reading - Odd time grooves - Syncopation - Tuning - Playalong to music grooves demos.
Everybody is treated individually as I will assess your playing during the first session and will gear future lessons according to which areas you wish to improve upon. If, however, drumming is completely new to you and you are not really too sure where to start then some of the many topics which can be taught are: Coordination skills/ Time Keeping/ Phrasing/ Groove playing/ Reading/ Fills/ Kit care/ tuning/ stick technique and rudiment training etc. The main aim is that lessons are enjoyable without the feeling of being under pressure.The duration of a lesson is minimum half an hour and a maximum of two hours. A 5% discount is available for block bookings of 5 or more lessons.
